PROPERTY ASSESSED CLEAN ENERGY (Opportunity for Solar Energy Financing)
As authorized under California law, the County of San Diego currently participates in five different programs that allow for the financing of energy efficient projects, water efficiency projects and renewable energy upgrades that can be repaid through annual property tax bills. The MLT program is designed to produce trained employees to enter the medical laboratory workforce. Requirements for the PACE Program. To remain in the PACE program: Commit to taking the respective semester sequenced courses each semester; Attend homework labs, tutoring sessions, and study sessions as directed; Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.9. Due to the pandemic, we will be making the application available via a Google Form. The application process has now closed for Spring 2021. Should you have any questions please reach out to us at miramarmltt@sdccd.edu.
Below are the information that you will be ask to submit and gather.
  • Personal information including CSID (SDCCD student ID number)
  • Verification of completion of pre-requisites and recency (date and location)
  • Submission of Unofficial transcript of pre-requisites. If you completed all of your pre-requisite with SDCCD, you do not need to turn in an unofficial transcript.
  • Acknowledgement of program requirements and technical requirements
  • Official transcripts from other institution(s) will need to be submitted to Evaluations at San Diego Community College District and formally evaluated to be equivalent to our pre-requisite requirement.

Only completed application will be entered into a lottery to determine the order of admission. Please note, due to the pandemic and the popularity of our program, we are only able to have a limited number of students to start MLTT classes in Spring 2021. Spring 2021 classes are being scheduled as hybrid modality with selected dates/times having campus access requirement.

The Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program prepares students for employment in clinical laboratories, industry, and biotechnology. The program curriculum integrates basic concepts, technical procedures, and laboratory exercises. This program provides practical experience for students to master the competencies, skills, and knowledge required in the Medical Laboratory Technology profession.

Program Emphasis

The MLT program is designed to produce trained employees to enter the medical laboratory workforce. As such, the program's primary learning outcome is to graduate competent, workplace-ready members of the health care team who Exhibit theoretical comprehension and competence in all MLT courses by passing comprehensive college and certification exams. Demonstrate entry-level MLT skills in the following clinical laboratory areas: Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis and coagulation, Immunology and Immunohematology, and Microbiology. Demonstrate professionalism and awareness of their role in the delivery of health care to patients, such as respecting the rights of patients, colleagues and other health professionals as they perform duties within the constraints of legal, moral and ethical conduct. Exhibit positive attitudes in the areas of professionalism and commitment to delivering excellent health care.

The MLT program is designed to educate and prepare students to sit for a national exam, which when passed will allow for immediate entry into a clinical lab environment as a Medical Laboratory Technician. The types of clinical labs include those in:

  • community-based hospitals
  • teaching hospitals
  • private hospitals and clinics
  • clinical research organization (CRO) support services.

Student Learning Outcomes
