For those who play The Sims 3, it won't be news to you that there is an online Sims store for purchasing additional game content. Lord knows that the game advertises its store enough! Every time you open the Sims 3 launcher you're bombarded with messages about sales and new worlds and venues and hairstyles. I've spent money on several Premium Content items from the store but a lot of them you have to buy worlds now so. Don't have the money for that and I'm looking for premium content such as the new children items, the appliances, the chicken coop, etc. Mediafire links are preferred.

My Ebay premium store renewal date recently arrived, below are 3 reasons why I decided to downgrade my Ebay premium store to a basic store.

Beads and jewelry components used to sell on Ebay like mad! I was always very busy selling and making money on Ebay in my Ebay store. I did this successfully for over 12 years, and had lots of fun selling on Ebay.

But increased rules for Ebay sellers have made it not such a fun and friendly place to do business anymore.

Why I downgraded my Ebay premium store

1. Ebay is overcrowded – For my main product and category, a quick look shows 350,000 listings on Ebay as opposed to approximately 51,000 on Etsy.
2. DSRs (Detailed Seller Ratings) and Defects – I was not against the Ebay DSR until the recent inclusion of defects and making sellers responsible for the post office or delivery services. Additionally, if a buyer asks a question it’s a potential defect automatically. You are much better off if the buyer does not contact you, which is totally backwards since communication is a big part of relationship building with customers.
3. Ebay slow sales – Over the past few years the sales volume has rapidly declined, either from the overcrowding or the newest skewed search engine.

In my humble opinion

There is no point in paying premium Ebay store fees for sub-premium sales, while also being held responsible for things I can’t control (a shipping business and customer questions).

I did not wake up one day and suddenly decide to make this change, it was made gradually over the past few years as I watched my Ebay sales decrease while my Etsy shop and my independent website had growth.

Do I really need the Ebay store anymore?

Yes, I want to keep a presence there since some customers really enjoy making online purchases via Ebay. My Ebay listings will be a small portion of my top-selling items or recently found “treasures”.

Perhaps with a smaller store inventory I will be able to figure out the Cassini search engine and implement changes that will work better for the future.

• The Premium content is missing all Interactions
• My Sim resets when interacting with the Premium Content.

• There’s a file called ccmerged.pacakge inside the DCBackup folder which is installed/updated each time you install a premium content via Sims3Pack. This file contains important information about the Premium content. DO NOT DELETE THIS FILE.
• Unfortunately this file can also become corrupted over time.
• Conflict with a third-party Store Fix
• Maybe some trait or skill level prevents the content to work correctly.

• Do not delete ccmerged.package
• If you already did so, you have to reinstall all premium content.
• Try if you have the same issues if you use a different Sim.
• Remove (or update) any third party Store Fixes

Creating a new ccmerged.package

1. Close your game and launcher
2. Rename the user data folder to TheSims3_Backup and start the launcher. A new user data folder is created.
3. Copy the files of your Premium content from your backup folder to [user data folder]Downloads or redownload them. It’s possible to download most premium content individually if you own the sets they came with
4. Install all premium content (you can install them all in one go)
5. Copy the file user data folderDCBackupccmerged.package to a safe place where you’re sure to find it again.
6. Delete the new user data folder
7. Rename thesims3_Backup to TheSims3
8. Copy the newly created file ccmerged.package that you have saved to user data folderDCBackup overwriting the faulty one.
9. Start your game and test all premium content.

• To prevent having to do this over and over, keep a working ccmerged.package file in a safe place. If something goes wrong, copy it back to your user data folder and install the latest premium content again.
• Backup a new copy of the file each time you install a new premium content (only if it actually works of course
